| Alexander the Great came to Jerusalem, during his conquests of the Middle East around 332 BC. He was shown by the high priest the book of Daniel where, 200 years earlier, the angel Gabriel told of the coming of the Greeks and "their first king" was specifically mentioned. Alexander recognized that the prophecy was about him and instead of plundering Jerusalem, asked what he could do for the Jewish people. |
