The historic Greek consulate: Touring the former Greek city of Monastiri (Bitola), FYROM

Up until 1914, Monastiri (today known as Bitola) had an extremely large and vibrant Greek population prior to the city being ceded to Yugoslavia (today a city in the FYROM) after the end of the Balkan Wars 1912-1913. 

In the video, a Greek tour group visits the now abandoned historic Greek Consulate building.

It is currently against the law to self-identify as Greek in the FYROM and are forced to list their ethnicity on the national census as "Macedonian" or "other."
